The Early Settlers Home was lovingly restored and recrafted by skilled craftsmen who lovingly transformed it from a small, modest turn-of-the-century farm house into a cottage so charming that it once served as holiday headquarters for visiting dignitaries, Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus. This small, modest settler’s house is a typical example of the type of home pioneers might build to provide shelter from the elements and a place to call home as they worked the land or toiled at a business in town. When it was being moved, a train schedule from 1888 was discovered within its walls along with the revelation that square nails had been utilized in its construction.
